Some of you might be interested in a lightweight notes application I came across recently called BooguNotes - http://boogu.me/.

It describes itself as a treeview organiser. It is basically a single pane outliner which has the ability to dock at the side of your screen in a similar manner to an onenote sidenote.

Thanks, just tried it out.  First thing I looked for was a way to expand / collapse by keyboard.  Keyboard shortcuts are configurable (menu, preferences, shortcut).  Keyboard shortcuts are configurable.  By default, alt-Z expands and collapses an item (i.e. shows/hides subitems).  Items are called “text blocks”.  Alt-Shift-Z expands all items.  Alt-Left jumps to parent item.

I managed to crash it when I clicked Menu / File Management.  It gave me this error:

—————————————-
BooguNote.exe - No Disk
—————————————-
There is no disk in the drive. Please insert a disk into drive \Device\Harddisk4\DR4.

(running on windows)

Very basic, but maybe promising.

Yes, the file management operation does bomb it out, but I have been able to use it by using other commands for opening, saving files etc.

I use it docked to the side of my screen as a daily log, task list and scratchpad on my work machine.
