As far as I recall, there are relatively few task managers for windows that offer what I might call ‘true outlining’ (unlimited nesting/hierarchy of tasks). The main ones that come to mind are Ecco Pro, InfoQube, Amode (from Mindsystems), and ToDoList (from Abstract Spoon). Anyway, a new one seems to have just appeared called The Now Organizer:

It features multiple views, including Outline and Mind Map. I’ve barely tested it yet, so I don’t have much else to say at the moment, but I thought I’d give a heads -up here.

I tried to install the trial version and Norton had a fit and erased it from my computer. I guess I’ll sit this one out.

That doesn’t sound good. I’ve already reached the conclusion myself that I won’t be using this software for now (although I’ll keep an eye on further development), but I sure hope I haven’t installed any malware, as I’m presently on a Windows installation that lacks antivirus software. Thanks for your report.

Hi Guys,

I’m Kevin and I work on the support team for The Now Organizer. You haven’t downloaded any malware or wild software. When you say Norton gave you a fit with it, what does that mean? Did the software load, work, error out, etc? Let me know.

Also, if you guys have trouble please shoot an email to support@thenoworganizer.com and we’ll quickly respond.

And yes, it’s true, we’re new but willing to do what it takes to make sure our new customers are up and running and most importantly, happy. :0)

And lastly, we have a ton of ongoing development to add additional features that may be missing at the present moment.

Adding to your list, GoalEnforcer is a visual task manager outliner that handles an infinite number of subtask levels (unlimited visual nesting).
