Trying to Trust Launchy

Just when I got to the point where I thought I could trust UltraRecall to always act accurately, I discovered that about five web pages I had used Launchy to copy into UR had not appeared in UR.

So by the time I get back to the pages, it’ll be half an hour down the tubes.

Has anyone ever had problems with Launch not doing what it should?

Hi Daly,

I don’t know about Launchy, but I did report to the UltraRecall forum a problem with copying web pages into UR - see http://www.kinook.com/Forum/showthread.php?s=&threadid=2391

No response yet. If you’re getting the same problem it might be useful to also report it.

Daly,

I have not had any problem with Launchy within Firefox 2.0x with UR 3 (now 3.02).

It does take UR a bit time to import the page; so, I’m not sure what happens if you copy multiple pages quickly before UR finishes copying one page.  I tend to copy one at a time and make sure it is copied over to UR, and so far I haven’t had any problem with more than 100 copies.

Ken, Daly & Graham re: Launchy & UR browser problems. I could not get Launchy to work properly in FF although I could copy & paste from FF into URp w/o a problem mostly. But then I decided to try URp’s IE browser (IE6) & that integrates beautifully w/o issue. Copying links is not a problem, nor copying pages. If I need to copy a secure site, like a bank site for a receipt or something, either I resort to text only or Net Snippets. Roboform works just fine with URp so I don’t have to worry about passwords, etc. I imported all my IE favoriters as well as FF bookmarks into URp w/o incident. Sometimes I actually miss FF but not as often as I thought I might. IE seems a bit slower than FF but that could be my connection…. crappy DSL. Ken you can speed up linking by changing your options not to keyword. Otherwise it seems like an endlessssssssssss process to me. I think URp 302 still has a few bugs but, in my experience, they are few & far between. Just my .02
