I want to speak a few words of support for the InfoSelect GUI. First of all, I will acknowledge that it has sort of a throw-back look to it, but that’s somewhat charming, I think. Too many programs today seem to all look the same, even if they have different power under the hood. But on a more practical level, the selector in IS seems particularly clean to me. Commands execute quickly. With Version 9, the icons have all received a face lift, giving them a bit more dash. In fact, of all the programs I’ve seen that use a hierarchical tree as the major form of navigation and organization, I think IS’s selector is the best. The major improvement I would make if I could would be having the option to view search results flattened, rather than showing the paternity of each note that comes up under the search. And the context tabs are still no substitute for hoisting abilities.

Steve,

Ditto on the ability to flatten search results. That would make my life easier.

As for the interface, I am glad IS9 got some improvements, especially the email icons. But for some reason, I have always like the triangles in the selector. Nobody else uses them, and it sets IS apart from the usual plus and minus signs.
