An oldie: anybody heard of SiteSnagger ?

To capture web data I use a combination of Surfulater, scrapbook (Firefox) and ClipCache.
However, I’d still love to download complete websites to my HDD. A backup copy, in case all else fails ;)
Mac users have SiteSucker—> http://www.sitesucker.us/home.html
I couldn’t find a Windows alternative. I Googled and discovered that back in the days of Windows 95/98 there was a software called SiteSnagger. There was also one called NetSpider. I wonder if anybody used/still using these oldies to capture complete websites, and whether there’s a modern Windows alternative for SiteSucker?

One I use occasionally for downloading entire sites is HTTrack -

I found CyberArticle rather useful for archiving and managing website content. There is a free lite version too.

Another interesting approach is website packer. It saves complete sites as single chm-files. As far as I remember it was freeware. Seems to be developed no more, but I think there are several download sites you can get it from.

HTTrack looks like what I’m looking for—an excellent freeware.
I intend to get Offline Explorer Pro. A bit pricey, but the software was offered in bitsdujour.com once, so I’m hoping for a repeat appearance.
CyberArticle: I suspect it’s more of an information manager/clipper combination (like Surfulater, to which I’ve purchased a license) than a website downloader.
I like the chm-files approach, I discovered that Offline Explorer Pro can export to chm.

Stumbled across a thread in DonationCoder where HTTrack and Offline Explorer were praised; other applications mentioned there were Teleport Pro, Local Website Archive (there’s a freeware version), wget and WinWget.
