Has anyone used Action Outline much? Is it an elegant, minimalist 2-pane outliner, sort of a two-pane Windows Opal; OR is it a dumbed-down, least-common-denominator 2-paner?

Stephen,

I’ve not used Opal, so I can’t make that comparison, but ActionOutline was my go-to outliner when I was on Windows.  I’d say it’s a minimalist two-pane outliner, simple and reliable.

It has been some time since I tried it, but I was always impressed by its clean interface and solid feel, so I think your characterization of an elegant, minimalist 2-pane outliner is correct. Not worth $39, but $20 seems about right.
