I’ve never taken the time to learn the details of writing OmniOutliner scripts using Omni Automation. But I just tried asking an AI Agent (Google Gemini—the free version in Chrome) to write some OmniOutliner scripts for me—and it did so perfectly! It’s a new world…

I did the same thing last year and it made a script to export outlines as Markdown to Apple Notes. It did it in about half a second.

Automation in OmniOutliner is pretty cool, no matter how you get there. All apps should be scriptable, and OO’s Javascript makes a lot more sense to me than Applescript.
That may make me a heretic, so take me with a grain of salt.
