There’s something about an AI-generated mind map that feels more than a bit off. Mind mapping in my experience is using a visualization to work out the intricacies of a problem, or project, or research, or whatever. The act of making linkages and reworking the mind map is what makes mind-mapping interesting and primes the mind to understand the problem, Having an AI engine spew out a mapped glob of stuff misses the point of doing the work with the brain.
I’m not sure I like this new world. Of course, I don’t have to live there.

No one’s forcing anyone to use this optional feature that “suggests next steps, expands branches, compares alternatives, and helps you think through problems faster.” I have used this with writing apps that similarly integrate one’s keys and it often offers interesting, unexpected and unexpectedly *good* suggestions.

I agree, Paul. At the very least, a diagram that is AI generated is certainly not a “mind” map.

If that were only and wholly what it does you might have a point.

Apropos of the moment and presented with respect. I understand AI can be a powerful tool.
Plottr just sent out a notice they’ve made the decision to leave AI out of their products because they don’t like the impact of AI on creative endeavors.
I’m sure this may cost them some business and it may help attract other customers.
