On their website, ConnectedText has announced that 4.0 will be released today (9/22).  All 3.1 users will be get the 4.0 upgrade free.  The site mentions that 4.0 will bring some price changes.  The ordering link on the website still points to the 3.1 ordering page, so (at least right now - 5:30PM PST), you can order and download 3.1 at the current price and then get 4.0 in the next day or so.

I went ahead and ordered mine, despite clearly only understanding the basics based on the 30 day demo I used.

Order at the current prices while you can if you’re interested in it!!!!  http://www.connectedtext.com

Unfortunately I think ConnectedText would not appear in Bits du Jour.

For those that don’t know ConnectedText I would like to invite the new version 4.0. It has many features like:

* Ultra fast full text queries with predicates. You can locate almost instantaneously all topics modified yesterday containing certain words and containing an attribute with a given value. And you can use such expression to include dynamically information in your text.

* A fairly capable outline which now have Hoist.

* Semantic extensions

* Multi-term highlighting of full text hits

* And much more.

I don’t like to promote our product in the forum but knowing about ConnectedText new features can be useful.

FWIW I purchased v4 immediately.
Unlike other tools that allow for this depth of semantic modeling, CT has a focus on writing, i.e. can be used to produce useful textual output.
Since much of my work ultimately has to result in some sort of document, I am glad that CT offers competent writing tools (e.g. in contrast to other semantic network tools like Personal Brain which is mostly useful for building the model but then has to be complemented by other tools fairly early in any document creation process).
Several details are just *beautiful*, I love the copy&paste of images that results in a clean, structured image repository below the project folder.
Congratulations to the CT team on the new release!

Is there a page anywhere that describes the new features (and possibly includes screenshots)? e.g. What are the new “semantic features”? I couldn’t find anything except a brief description and a cryptic changelog on the ConnectedText site. Bonus points if there were screenshots of the new features.
