Many thanks to Andy Brice for today’s update to Hyper Plan. I use it daily.
For instance, a threat scanner produces a spreadsheet of machines, vulnerabilities, and a bunch of trivia I don’t really need.
Asset management will dump a spreadsheet of machines, teams responsible for them, and more trivia I don’t need.
In three minutes I’ll have a kanban board in Hyper Plan mapped by status, vulnerability, host, and team, tracking my progress with a status variable, and keeping time stamped note entries.
There is a trick, obviously, to get two data sources to correlate and produce a single filtered CSV file. You could use Excel, I suppose. The modern Jedi data warrior prefers Easy Data Transform, but that’s another story.
I use a Hyper Plan file as a dashboard for bills to pay. When I pay a bill, I shift that card’s date forward a month. Each bill has a guesstimated payment. I can set the filter for a time span and see an estimate of how much I need to survive the next day, week, to the next payday, whatever.
Hyper Plan is unfortunately the kind of app that may not show its power at first glance. For throwing together a plan it’s quick and effortless.
Thanks, Andy!

Agreed! I love this software. I don’t use it al the time, but everytime I do I walk away happy.
In fact, I look for reasons to use it, but unfortunately my work has limited opportunities.
It’s great software!

Good to hear that. I always hope that my software will be enjoyable to use, as well as useful.
