Bits just announced next Tuesday’s offerings, and My Info is going to be available for $19.95, which is $30 off the regular price. At 20% the price of askSam, it is a far better choice.

Funny you should put it that way.

I used AskSam as my main repository for unstructured data for nearly ten years, beginning with version 3.0. There’s no question that it was useful for the purpose.

However, I eventually became less and less satisfied with the program, and migrated to MyInfo. I’m so much happier with the latter program that I manually transferred a legacy database of some 1400 items from AskSam to a tagged and outlined MyInfo file. The work was worth it.

Bob,

I can’t think of a better testimonial for myInfo. Brilliant!

The latest version of MyInfo looked interesting, so I decided to download it and run some tests (under Win XP SP2).
- PROBLEMS
- Both of the setup files I downloaded from the My Info Web site and from the BitsduJour site issued error messages during installation.
- To save a Web page, one apparently has to enter its URL in a pop-up box.  However, when I did this and then tried to open the page, I got a script error message.  I tried this with more than one site with the same result.
- So, before buying MyInfo, I suggest that you download and try it for yourself.

I sent Milenix q couple of questions and just received a reply.  I would still test MyIOnfo before buying.
- -Here are the questions and replies:

> myinfo-install.php would not execute

Maybe our web site was not responsive when you installed MyInfo and your
browser couldn’t open our Welcome web page? If you run install process
again, the error should not appear anymore.
—[NOTE:  The error occurred using two different downloads of the install files.  The Welcome page opened both times, so apparently the error is something else.]
> 2.  Am I correct in my belief that one cannot save Web pages to MyInfo from Firefox?

You can save a web page, by selecting the whole page and clicking on
Tools > Send To MyInfo, as long as MyInfo Firefox plugin is installed
(you can find it here: http://www.milenix.com/myinfo-plugins.php)
