Is EverNote still the best for tagged note taking

After having been away from outliners for a while, I now have a need for a note taker that in a seamless way allows me to track my job search, keeping track of new opportunities and my contacts with the various companies. The need is to track opportunities - both advertised and leads - and my activity with each. I am considering using EverNote, which I think could do the trick through tagging. I’ve also considered a site called jibberjobber.com, but it’s a bit cumbersome, as it is webbased. I’ve also considered an actual crm app such as salesforce, but that is also webbased, so it has a little the same problem as jibberjobber.

Do any of you have ideas for software that would be particularly well suited for this task?
