Thank you all for your suggestions.
HTTrack looks like what I’m looking for—an excellent freeware.
I intend to get Offline Explorer Pro. A bit pricey, but the software was offered in bitsdujour.com once, so I’m hoping for a repeat appearance.
CyberArticle: I suspect it’s more of an information manager/clipper combination (like Surfulater, to which I’ve purchased a license) than a website downloader.
I like the chm-files approach, I discovered that Offline Explorer Pro can export to chm.
Stumbled across a thread in DonationCoder where HTTrack and Offline Explorer were praised; other applications mentioned there were Teleport Pro, Local Website Archive (there’s a freeware version), wget and WinWget.
