Hello Fredy,

I have a fully German version of XP Home SP2 and a PC configuratin of ‘DE/de’ (meaning nothing but German), and I did test-drive ‘Personal Brain 5’ 2 times in the past. In fact, when one unchecks ‘Startup with Windows’, it indeed does not start up with Windows any more. And I un-installed it at least 2 times without any problems. And you can control what is shown or not shown, you can even fix the position of an item on screen.
What I have learned while looking for the PIM that would suit me is, that these programs can be complex, some even sophisticated, and that it is good advice to read the manual for a thorough testing
And maybe your last post should nevertheless have been made to the forum of ‘Personal Brain’; maybe you would have noticed the info there on how to change languages…  And there was a patch that took care of bad translations.
From my topic ‘PIM with visualization’ I have learned that there are very few of these on the market (for Windows). Only ‘Personal Brain’ and ‘Topicscape’ seem to fit in here because of their ability to store additional informations of different kinds, and I have to make up my mind what weaknesses would bother me less (and, of course, forget MindManager).
As one kind poster mentioned before: if you look out for THE perfect program, you will never get one.
So, maybe you should get rid of SP3 of Win XP and return to SP2, and before posting test results of tests that never took place, and insulting some people round here, please be so kind to consider my this advice: use Brain 1.0; meaning: yours.

Best regards,
Peter.
