Hanging on to XP…YES. Too many programs have not been updated to Vista. I could use GrandView with Win 2000, but have many problems using it in XP, although some others seem to be able to use GV in XP with little trouble.

Wth respect to NoteMap, I was using it to write all of the book, not just an outline of it.

My son switched to a Mac a couple of years ago and just finished a book on video game production to be published in September. I’ll try to remember to ask him what software he used in writing it.
