This recommendation is based on a hunch that it might work. Not on experience. But have you looked at Zoot?
It has been around for 25 years. I’m not sure that it has advanced much in the past decade, but it is still supported. I tend to recall that it was sometimes compared with Idealist.
I’m sure others in this forum will have other suggestions.
