InfoQube has become an extraordinarily powerful tool.

As has often been commented recently, we are living in a seeming golden age of information management software and so-called “tools for thought”. And with InfoQube, we have a uniquely sophisticated outliner under very active development (Pierre is focusing on it full-time).

I had previously tried to go all-in on Logseq (while keeping an eye on Roam, Siyuan, Unigraph, and other innovators), but I kept finding that they lacked the features I was looking for. I wanted the full power of outlining with columns. Tinderbox (MacOS) and InfoQube (Windows) remain in a class of their own in this regard. In the past, when I had a Mac, I used Tinderbox, but I currently have a Windows machine, which led me to explore InfoQube.

Now that I am a couple of months in to doing everything in InfoQube, I couldn’t be happier. The software has made leaps and bounds recently. I can do things like:

- outline a document
- write summary notes in an adjacent column
- make the summary column into an outline column in another pane
- view/edit my outline as a concept map in another pane
- view/edit my outline as a flat list (sorted and filtered by whatever criteria I want) in yet another pane
- all using whatever fonts and colors I want, including my own outline style templates
- along with sophisticated tagging, backlinking, etc

The list goes on. Some learning and tinkering may be needed to take full advantage of IQ’s features, but I have found that it’s well worth it. And Pierre is generous in providing assistance and implementing new features.

So for those on Windows who like “power tool” style software, I definitely encourage checking it out.
