Well, great for a wordprocessing app; mediocre for an outliner. You can build outlines pretty quickly and rearrange the nodes with drag and drop, including nesting the nodes. I know you said you didn't use the columns of ECCO very much, but you do have access to a number of meta-data columns in Scrivener.
There is a free trial, so I would suggest giving it a run.
