NOTEPLAN IS FANTASTIC BUT TOO APPLE-Y FOR ME

I downloaded a trial copy of NotePlan because of the rave reviews on Outliner Software.

It’s beautiful and I want to use it, but will not because it wants to lock me into the Apple ecosystem just as much as Apple’s own software does. (I love and can’t live without MacOs itself because it’s still a bit like unix under the hood). I have an Android phone and need to integrate with it.

I WON’T ACCEPT BEING FORCED TO USE ICLOUD

NotePlan stores its files in iCloud, where I don’t want them: ~/Library/Mobile Documents/iCloud~co~noteplan~NotePlan/Documents/Notes.

Under Preferences>Sync NotePlan offers two choices for storing its data:

* Use Dropbox [Preview]
* Use iCloud

Dropbox is not actually selectable Why? Is this because I’m using a trial copy? I don’t want to buy a copy to find out.

I try my best not to use iCloud and probably won’t buy NotePlan if I cannot use Dropbox.

I WON’T BE FORCED INTO USING APPLE CALENDAR

I don’t use Apple Calendar. Will NotePlan be able to sync with Google Calendar?

This is not a show-stopper for me. I’d be happy to purchase NotePlan as a replacement for DayOne or Journey, but it would be very nice if I could sync with Google Calendar. (Also Apple Calendar and Google Calendar might be able to sync with each other, but I haven’t checked that out.)
