Thanks. Me too. Off the top of my head I easily use over 40 online apps & services on 5 OSes which use my personal free clouds like Dropbox gdrive 1drive or own server sync. No subs. Various genres, sizes & uses too. Many open source with multi devs sure to popularity, so will survive unlike most cloud sub based ventures.

Saving many thousands of expensive lessons hours invested long term NVM other more precious benefits than mere money. Allowing work to develop in time, quantity, quality, depth and layers in familiar interface and data structure without it disappearing as many cloud apps do and will.

Secondly, most of my fave offline tools, most not open source, also have sync features or can be set up to do so. So no loss. No cloud app comes close to any of them in features, uses, potentials etc. Compared to them they are gimmicks and mere online clipboards.

Finally, outlining is not just about data input, but also fast data consumption with efficient pleasant UI/UX to take in live data in multi formats. In niche areas of one’s interests within other protocols, other than browsers’ http. This large area of software for fast data access with beautiful Outliner interfaces is almost never discussed here.
