Dr Andus,

One reason why I am leery of using Google Drive for anything except bare bones storage is that if there is any problem Google has perhaps the worst support of any big corporation among the big name companies.

For example, I can email Microsoft directly, and without much trouble at all I can speak with someone from MS.

The same with Amazon. Amazon service is amazing!

Google makes it virtually impossible to have contact with a Google support person. This morning is a case in point. I had a problem with a Google Play Store purchase and requested a refund. I found out, after some searching, how I could send a description of my problem to Google Play Store. I sent the description and within a minute had a reply telling me my request wasn’t in keeping with their policy. That tells me the reply was likely automatic, and that no one had seen it. So I sent a followup, and the same thing happened again. Not impressed. I am now attempting to deal with the software vendor, which perhaps I should have done in the first place.

This kind of experience - and it’s not the first I have had with Google over the years - now makes me feel less secure about using Chromebook if ever I have a problem Acer cannot remedy. Luckily, I can return the Chromebook within 90 days of purchase to Costco.

I am a long time subscriber to Google Play Music, an excellent music source IMO, and after the lack of responsive service from Google I am wondering if I need to find an alternative. Must say though, that Google Play Music is the best music source I have found on-line, and is worth the subscription price.

Anyhow, that’s my rant for the morning. :-)
