The ability to switch from mind map to table form, based on some attribute, is very useful. Indeed, if there’s one thing I would look for in ‘visual info mapping’ software, it would be the ability to provide various views of the same information, depending on the use.

Alas, none seem to cater for all possibilities yet, not even the most useful ones. Here are the views provided as far as I know:

Mind Genius: mind map, outline, hierarchical chart
Mind Manager: mind map, outline and Gantt (with the JVC Gantt Pro plug-in)
OpenMind: mind map, Gantt, timeline
i2brain: mind map, table
Xmind (pro): mind map, table, fishbone, hierarchical chart (though I am uncertain whether they are different views of the same data or have to be re-drawn from scratch), concept map
Axxon Ideas Processor: probably the most versatile of all but I have been reluctant to try it out; maybe I should.

I’m sure there’s others that I’ve missed, but I hope you get the point.
