tldr: Everdo is awesome: https://everdo.net

So I’ve been in the middle of a personal information overhaul and working through Tiago Forte’s truly fantastic Building A Second Brain course (https://www.buildingasecondbrain.com/). That probably deserves a post on it’s own (serious knowledge workers out there might find the investment worth it), but I’ll wait until I’m further along in it.

The one step thing I was struggling with was picking an app to manage my tasks. I’d mostly been just managing separate lists in dynalist, but this was proving to be untenable and mentally quite “messy”.

I’ve really struggled to find a good full featured GTD app on windows. Apple users have Things and OmniFocus, but on windows the pickings are much slimmer (and I really just don’t like Todoist). I was about to settle on just using org-mode and accepting that I’ll spend hours fiddling with it, but then I came across Everdo.

I’ve tried almost every task manager out there available on windows and I’ve instantly fallen in love. We’ll see how I feel after I put it through it’s paces, it’s definitely worth a look.

Top Features
- Single purchase license
- Rapidly being developed
- Truly excellent “areas” feature for sorting your project views
- Full support of GTD methodology
- Strong keyboard shortcuts across the whole app
- Very good performance on my computer - combined with the shortcuts it feels like an app maximized for speed
- Can add due dates & metadata to projects themselves - something I LOVE but most task managers don’t allow
- Has a place for light notes

Potential Cons
- Only has network sync currently
- Android app is still in beta
- iOS app next year
