One of my recent sweeps of latest developments in the Mac App Store has revealed a newcomer in the personal wiki space.
It’s always fun when another personal wiki application comes along, and this one - currently Mac only - is a rather nice example of the genre.
The developer is French (although his English appears to be excellent), and it’s called Start & Doc. It can be found on the Mac App Store, but will shortly also be available as a free evaluation version which can be downloaded directly from his website (or from the Mac App Store, as you wish).
It’s still lacking a couple of things (such as a universal search function, although it does have a page search function), but he’s been kind enough to outline his roadmap, which includes the ability to export in multiple formats, and to share pages to specific apps (e.g. Mail, iMessage, Reminders, Notes etc.). Plus, of course, the requisite search function.
I’ve actually splashed out for it, and it’s very nicely designed; an interesting alternative to classics like VoodooPad. I’m hoping Éric will develop an iOS version as well; that’s a sine qua non in the Mac world, I feel.
More details on his website at https://start-and-doc.com (please note that the freebie version isn’t available just yet, but will be out shortly).
Cheers,
Bill
