MyInfo Version 7

The Milenix website is down today—I have no idea why—but I can report that Petko is making steady progress on version 7 of MyInfo. His behavior is the same as it’s always been: he’s exceptionally slow (I assume because Milenix is a one-man operation) and makes few public announcements, but if you’re willing to stick with him, he produces really fine, mostly trouble-free software. Though in recent years I have been shifting many of my old notes into OneNote, I have more and more misgivings about that (because the traditional Windows version, known as OneNote 2016, is apparently going to be abandoned in the future), and lately I have been thinking again about the merits of MyInfo. In particular I find that MI’s columns of attributes, when combined with tags, make it possible to organize information in surprisingly complex ways.

As a beta tester, I can’t really say too much about the next version of MyInfo, but I would just offer the generalization that it will retain nearly all the excellent features of MyInfo 6 and add many new capabilities.
