Evernote Killing off Clearly and Skitch

I doubt that Evernote is going to disappear anytime soon, but it does seem to be an increasingly troubled piece of software. Its current phase of retrenchment reflects that.

My own misgivings grew mainly out of an experience I had a year ago, when I was unable to sync the Evernote files on my second computer. That went on for four months (until a new version of EN was finally released), during which time I received only occasional, half-hearted replies from their help desk. I decided then that I needed to find an alternative (or alternatives).

But Evernote obviously continues to serve the needs of some users very well.
