You have now confirmed what I was hoping would not be true.  I had hoped that this new release would not require registration, and more importantly, was hoping that there was a help file included with the download.  IMHO, it would do them wonders if they could just clean up this cluttered tangle of web sites, links and registration forms and just focus on a stand-alone execution copy of the program with some adequate help documentation.
