Last year I was interested in the possibilities that the Boogie Board might open up for handwriting-to-computer input - beyond a kitchen or a telephone-table note-taker. But it clearly required integration with a desktop-management programme with handwriting-recognition software. At that stage the Rip model was the only Boogie Board with such a capability to download “pages” to a computer and have them converted into text, although then there were hints on the Internet (I think Dr Andus may have drawn our attention to them) that the more recently-launched Sync might be given it too (and I think, though I may be mis-remembering, that when I later asked its developer, Improv Electronics, about such a possibility the response was more or less “Watch this space” - and it seemed an obvious move).

However, sadly, the Rip seems to remain the only model with this - for me - key functionality, and although I believe the Rip can still be obtained from Amazon in the UK and US, it appears to have disappeared from the Improv website.
