I was critical of the first version of FoldingText, but version 2.0 is more refined and usable. It still feels like it is created for computer geeks (not intended as a pejorative, just mean the more technical oriented) than for the general public. It has those oddball Todo and Timer modes. The first seems useful, perhaps, but the Timer feels like a real niche type feature. Plus it’s got things like “Node Paths,” which I don’t even understand. None of this precludes use by people like me. My only concern is that Jesse always seems to find ways to go off on tangents, instead of developing his applications’ key functionality. So I worry about that.
Nevertheless, FoldingText does now genuinely feel like a useful app.
