Real checkboxes that can be clicked can be enabled individually for any tree separately,
by simply right-clicking on the tree and then going to “Tree Properties / Checkboxes = Yes”.

Indeed, there are many such more “hidden” features that are sadly not well documented,
such as for example also the following 2 more power-tagging features that i forgot to include before:

Mass Tag Importing
___________________

You can pre-create for example in Excel, and then import your entire tagging system from a huge list at once
(at a rate of about 300-1000 tags a time, and about a 30s waiting time in-between, while it processes & alphabetically sorts them),
by simply using the regular “Tags…” entry field (which likewise can be accessed by just right-clicking on the tree)
and then NOT just entering only 1 tag and hitting enter as it says, but instead pasting into that tiny-looking field
100-1000 tags at once, in a comma separated fashion, and no spaces in-between, like this:

tag1,tag2,tag3,

which gets perfectly recognized and automatically processed into then creating/importing all the tags at once.
(and thus giving you the ability, to quickly re-create/bulk import your entire tagging system when for example switching to a brand new file)

Also remember, when mass importing, to create an empty dummy item to which you will assign all the tags initially unto,
so that you can upon completion just delete the dummy item, and thus auto re-setting thus all the tag counts back to “0”,
while but still retaining all the once entered tags in the database still. And also, when needing to import / set-up your database
with multi-thousands of tags, it is not advisable to tag a single dummy item ever with more than 1000 tags, or it can slow the import down too much,
so simply in that case, create multiple dummy items, each to be loaded-up with up to 1000 tags at most at once.

On that note, it should also be said, that RightNote is very scalable in its tagging system,
and i have effectively tested (and am using it daily) with over 10K of tags put into it (try that with another software that does not run on SQLite)
without no slowdown whatsoever, and with only the initial import taking a while (just let it finish fully 20-30s each time),
but once they are in, everything goes blazing fast from thereon.

And also, when wanting to navigate say thousands of tags in the alphabetic tag list,
you can best quickly do so, by pressing/holding the PageDown/Up button inside the tag list.

Mass Tag Deletion
___________________

Likewise so, while it is sadly not possible to just directly “multi-select” multiple tags in the alphabetic tag list,
and just press delete to delete many at once - you can instead just simply focus the mouse on the red “minus” button above it &leave it there,
and when then starting from the lowest item selected (or from where you want to quick delete from) in the list,
you can then just quickly click, click, click, click (a hundred times or at this point use a simple macro tool to mass repeat a left mouse click)
to thus delete quickly many at once - since after deletion of a tag RightNote auto-jumps (without any dialog or anything) right to the next tag above it,
making thus a mass deletion possible in usually 30s or less.
