I’m curious as to what “bells and whistles” you feel are present in PCOutline but missing in Inspiration. I’ve owned Inspiration for a few years now so I am pretty familiar with it but I’ve only played with the PCOutline demo a little. From my point of view Inspiration has a few features (that I find important) missing in PCOutline like Hoisting and Drill Down/Export to Child.

The main thing I dislike about Inspiration is the interface. It seems to be designed to appeal to children. School sales seems to be one of their big target markets. I’ve used a resource hacker to change the silly graphic on the toolbar to something a little more normal. But I wish it had a more standard windows interface like PCOutline (customizable toolbars would be great). If PCOutline would only implement a Hoisting feature I would gladly switch over.
