I just returned InfoSelect (IS) under its 60-day guarantee policy.

The most unique feature I found was that you can create multiple,
separate IS files, and open any or all of them in the IS program and
also search for text in any or all of them via one search query.

My difficulties with it are

1) its limited formatting capabilities. It even eliminates some
formatting of text that one pastes into it. For example, if I have
subscripts or superscripts in a Word file and I wish to paste that
text into IS, the subscript and superscript formatting is lost in IS.

2. The *.crd import didn’t work properly for me

3.The upgrade price for recent purchasers is ridiculous. I purchased
IS ver 5 on 7/7. There is now a version 6 beta (http://www.miclog.com/is/6/info.htm ,
http://www.miclog.com/is/6/beta.htm ). To upgrade with the 50%
discount for being a RECENT purchaser the total price would be as
much as purchasing Ver6 directly, and even more if I wait a couple of
weeks to do it.

4. A new beta version of Skwyrul is close to being released for
testing.  I haven’t been using it because the current version is
missing a couple of features I need, but I expect the new version to
be great, and it’s careware. ( http://www.asw.ndirect.co.uk ) Note:
The secret to its power is in the right mouse button.

5. Farther out on the horizon is Ver 3.0 of Jot+, another very
worthwhile contender. See http://www.kingstairs.com

6. Agenda fans should check out Zoot (http://www.zootsoftware.com).
