ADM Fans is a public list, owned by a user and a dedicated (very dedicated) beta tester. I am was sorry at the time, and am sorry still Stephen, at the conflict that went down between you and Jan—I like and respect both of you, while recognizing two very different personalities and thought styles. Unfortunately it left you out in the cold re ADM development, and I think that whatever the concerns Eric (the developer) and Jan (owner of the ADM fans list) had about how you expressed your concerns and frustration it was a mistake for them to close the door to you. Your ideas and observations had been at times, and would have continued to have been, helpful.

I think the experience has coloured your perspective on the actions and motives of folks at ADM. I do not believe there is any intent to deceive, or to confound people with circular logic about betas, etc. There have been concerns with re to stability, and Eric et al have taken the concnerns seriously. One of the people who post here uses ADM to a great extent in his business work, and appreciates its power. I will leave it to him to come forward if he wishes.

Since the ADM fans list is a public one on Yahoo, I believe it is not an issue for me to post here the urls that will lead people to the latest beta. You will see that ADM 4 has been given some capabilities not even foreseen in the previous version with re to communication capability.

I continue to like ADM for its interface, which some people admittedly hate but which I like because it is not the MS lookalike design that seems to grace most new programs.

ADM comes closest to ECCO and Zoot capability with columns.

Stephen, I would hope you would get back into the game, even if you have to post your comments here.

I will be up front about my biggest concern with ADM, and that is that the process for saving pages is somewhat cumbersome and that menus related to the process are not completely clear or logical. I have mentioned that in both the development (the private testers list) and fan list, and have no doubt that the programmers will deal with it before ADM 4 is released in final form.

I have no connections, personal or financial to ADM. However, if I was in a position to provide capital to Eric and Arne, I would because I think their vision is unique if perhaps overly ambitious in terms of what will be new in ADM 4, and that capital that translates into additional staff would enhance the development process.

For what it’s worth, if someone here could make a reasonable venture capital contribution to the ADM project, based on a good business case and expectation of a reasonable return, I think it could be a very good invnestment.

In the meantime, here’s how to get the latest beta: You can download the build now from:
