Yes, I looked at it some months ago and liked the sophisticated filenote idea (TotalCommander only has a pretty basic version of this, as it does of the virtual folders feature). My reservations at that time were that for my purposes the file management features were not strong enough, and I have found that writing notes against files can exacerbate the usual problems of having one’s comments scattered in too many places. What I tend to do is use TC’s basic notes feature to write immediate notes - like a long name for a cryptic one, version, date of installation - and a Zoot note with file-link for longer comments about file contents.

OTOH, after my recent tanglings with TotalCommander I am much clearer about what I am looking for, so I’ll take another look - oh, caught again!

> The other suggestion is that with Biblioscape and Library Master, the citation tag is plain text, so you can drop that into a Zoot field, add notes etc to the record in Zoot and then Zoot the citation tag into Word, with biblioscape or Library Master then used to create the bibliography inside Word.

I remember your mentioning this as a feature of Library Master, but baulked at the price. It was only a couple of weeks ago that I gathered it might also apply to Biblioscape. Being able to work outside Word really is a big plus. What I would also like, though, is to be able to double-click on the tag and have the full reference displayed somewhere. I’m guessing that sort of “live” link isn’t possible between Zoot and Biblioscape, is it?
