I may have mentioned this before, but this is an essential tool for large docs with Word. Main function is to replace the “file corrupting-disaster waiting to happen” master Document feature, but has many other useful fetaures.

It may also be worth mentioning Open office for long docs, which would appear to be more capable and safer than Word for long document semi-DTP type work.
