I also used AS for a similar purpose, once upon a time, but I found that I ended upo using the Zoot links to Word documents, and DTsearch more and more and that routinely importing files into AS was serving no purpose.

However, for this specific job, I can see it working really well as a big bucket for reports, emails, letters etc.

I did at one time have AS set up as “every thing in one place” tool. Address book, bibliographic data base freeform database. Intitial writing of reports with export to Word - but it just didn’t work for this, because of some of the reason you mention.

Having used AS from version 3, and just downloaded the demo of 6 ( I upgraded to 5, but never installed it. I can see some nice new features, but it also looks horribly familiar as well.
