Steve,

I use the same process as you do; I actually work in plain text in Brainstorm and move to MS Word only for spell-checking and draft printouts.

An additional advantage of the process you described is that my workflow is the same whether I layout the documents myself or transfer them to my graphics collaborator.

The important is for the text to be finalised when working on the layout; I can’t think of anything more time-consuming than making changes to a text in Quark Xpress or whatever.
