I used Yeah Write quite a bit in its early days (the late ‘90s). I loved the simplicity and the integration with its own address book. I had great hopes that as it developed, it would become more powerful (adding footnotes, tables, etc.)—and at one point, they promised to allow for customizable document styles. But, unfortunately, it has become moribund. I wrote to the developer a couple of years ago to ask if there were plans for further enhancement and was told that sales weren’t good enough and that they had discontinued work on it. Recently, however, they’ve updated their web site and I’ve seen Yeah Write listed as a sponsor on Download.com, which makes me wonder if they are reviving it. That would be marvelous.
