I have and have actually bought Mind Manager during this summer’s discount offer; I use it extensively for presentations.

However, I find mind mapping software inefficient spacewise when used for notes; the mind map pane usually only leaves a long note strip above the taskbar which is not very useful.

I am currently playing around with Aibase, which provides quite an efficient workspace, with documents within documents and notes—if one requires them. In a way it’s a more “visual” Brainstorm; there’s no distinction between headings and content, but documents can contain drawings, tables, images, etc.

The advantage is that one can create the high-level concept with a multitude of objects and then drill down to add detail.
