Neville,

By “gathering facilities” I mean a tagging system (not sure if your todo of bookmarks includes the same functions) that can be used along with queries and filters to gather articles of interest for a current project. The tagging would also be available while browsing the tree of course. It would also be helpful to be able to reorder the tagged articles for export to a file or the clipboard. However, this may too much functionalty and create a cluttered interface.
A thread on the Personal Knowbase forum also suggests saved queries being a powerful addition when integrated in some manner with a keyword tagging system.  For example the query “LargeStates” could be the result of a boolean search for - “New York” AND Texas AND California - producing a form of hierarchical keywords.
I agree that a tagging mechanism must be controlled in some manner.  I use RDBMS systems and know that picklists and rules are vital for maintaining a useful, ordered information store.

Al
