How far has data export come?

To check this out casually, I tried to export from one leading edge notes program to another: from UltraRecall to Evernote. I was encouraged that both allowed import and export of XML. But as it turns out, Evernote imports OML; UR exports XML. Has the industry still not adopted a standard?
