Yes it is, but it depends on what you need, I have had several programs that allow you to add a note, and it can be very useful.

Its actually an unfortunate name for Atlast to have chosen, because it tends to confuse it with this notes facility that several Explorer replacements offer and of course you can add into Explorer.
