Outliners are of course good for brainstorming ideas, and Apple events don’t seem useful for that purpose. However, outliners are also very good for to-do lists, and Apple events seem very useful for that, whether or not the outliner incorporates calendar functions and so on. In general, outliners can be useful as hierarchical databases, so to speak, a la InfoDepot, and AppleScript worked well in InfoDepot. I suspect the traditional outliner developers are a little bit blindered on this score.
