One of the benefits, I’ve had from taking part in this forum is the understanding of the different categories of tools for information management. These tools are very different, and they are used for very different things. Therefore it will clarify things to keep the distinctions. I would suggest the following categories:

These are “pure” forms, or functionalities. Most real products span several of these. Not being an expert, this is my 5c, but what do you say?
