I am using Omnipage 14, I have used Omnipage for years.

Quality varies, and it depends on what you expect.

Before upgrading to Omnipage 14 (from Omnipage 12) I did some comparisons with Abbyy Fine reader 7. This was converting scanned PDFs, and neither was perfect. On balance I stuck with Omnipage. However, the reviews tend to favour Fine Reader.

I have always found it very good a scanning in a few pages of good quality text, and you can train it to recognise unusual words.

It gets confused with tables, some scan in well and others are a mess.

Having said all that, it is a very useful tool to have on your desktop.
