Other than the lack of inline text, my main criticism is the limitation of levels to 9. I find myself worrying that I will run out of levels.

CaseSoft could easily add metadata to NoteMap, because they have implemented a very sophisticated metadata system in the flagship outline-based product, CaseMap. (I have licenses for all the CaseSoft products, except the one that prepares clients for depositions.) But I rather doubt NoteMap will get metadata, because CaseSoft would risk canibalizing their CaseMap line. Just a guess.

I haven’t personally tested it or been affected by it, but there does seem to be one longstanding bug in NoteMap, as I’ve heard reported in outliners.com In place of inline text, there are comment cards, but when you merge two notes, the comments are lost if you have them in either.
