These advantages of paper may reverse with a few minor technical advances and perhaps already have. I have yet to find out for myself, but some say many of the advantages of paper have already been superseded by the Tablet PC. Users have reported—with some disagreement existing—that the ink recognition of Microsoft OneNote on a Tablet PC is very good or even excellent, once trained. Lawyers have switched from yellow pads to the Tablet, reporting that it has changed their whole style of work for the better. (Some of these reports on http://www.technolawyer.com.

On the other hand, the reception of the Tablet PC on the personal computer market in general has been disappointing, at least according to some reports. It seems to me, people will be slow to make so dramatic a change in their work habits, even if the advantages are considerable. I’m a relatively early adopter of computing technology and despite being excited about the Tablet, I have no great immediate urge to buy one. The technology is still too new for me for work and too expensive for play.
