Dear Ric:

People have been downloading the early release of 3.1 over the weekend and it works. We’re ready to go with the MORE 3.1 Download Page. (It will improve during the day tomorrow as more screen shots and product shots come online, but the software works, people have been using it over the weekend.)

This is the final version of MORE, released in December 1991. From here we’ll go back in time and fill in the missing pieces.

Also there’s an interesting group of people talking about this stuff on discuss.outliners.com. I hope all people who are enthusiastic about outliners will become part of this online community. We have a system of email bulletins that will notify people when new software is released, and an active discussion group that’s exploring different kinds of outliners and creating conversion utilities.

Most important has been Brad Pettit’s work to get text from MORE’s binary file format. Earlier today Brad released a tool that converts MORE files to XML. This could make MORE a very useful tool for creating web content, something that’s a natural fit for the hierarchy editing capabilities of MORE.

Thanks for your help Ric, this has been a very interesting and rewarding project for us. Your help, support and enthusiasm has made this a much bigger event than we had anticipated it would be. The Mac is coming alive again for us. This is very nice! Thanks again.
