Stephen, you’re right that the slow down of activity on the UltraRecall forum is a good sign in the sense that it means there’s not a lot of bugs. I think it is a competent program as you suggest. I’d go further to say inspired to the degree that its developers have tried to push the envelope, to create something new.

When you raise the question about how excited one can get about a multipane outliner I was a little surprised because I thought you were excited—at least a little—about UR. (I will concede that I probably get more excited about multipanes than you do!) Are you still using UR?

Interesting convergence of minds re the mind mapping or graphical outliners. I’ve looked at them recently, also, in part the result of discussions here. I like the concept, and think it lends itself to brainstorming *and* outlining *and* information management, so we may be back to old Certs conundrum: Certs is a breath mint. No, Certs is a candy mint. Or however that old ad went. When it comes to info management, though, nothing can so far replace for me ADM and InfoHandler. The former, with its multi window capability, has increased in value for me as a tool for organizing writing projects.

I have checked out the big three mind mappers, and am leaning toward MindGenius, at least in part because it is cheaper than MindManager, but also because of its hoist-like feature and ease of entering new data.

A concern I have had for a long time is the mess my email is in. I am getting a new Dell laptop with Office/Outlook installed, and am thinking of getting Nelson Email Organizer, which will fill out my info management needs (for now, that is!).

Daly
