I know just what you mean. I looked under history, biography, autobiography, timelining, journaling, life history, and nothing came up - although ironically Living Time escaped my net.

Many of the timelining programs on the market are nicely done but fairly limited in their application. In genealogy they generally work with data imported from genealogical database applications and are essentially merely used to generate reports. This explains their lack of power as standalone programs. The same, in my experience, goes for the legal software ones.
